HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel)

In the Metal Spraying Technology a relatively new process is HVOF-Spraying with powders. In the process the gas will be accelerated to a velocity of 2,400 m/s which accelerates the spraying particles up to 800 m/s. As shown in the picture on the right you can see the Shock Diamonds, which can normally only be seen coming from jet fighter engines. They are the indicator of supersonic speed.

Because of the high counter pressure HVOF-spraying cannot be done by hand. For the exact adjustment of the spray and to reproduce the coating it is necessary to use a system with an industrial robot. Once programmed it can carry out all tasks at highest quality level indefinitely
